It makes it easier to get tubeless tires to seal quickly and with a great bond that doesn’t let the air out.
The tech though does not end there. Our Toray T700 carbon rims are also asymmetric. Asymmetric rims are great for Boost applications. In asymmetric wheels, your spokes, Sapim Basic Leader since you asked, are offset from the center.
We use asymmetric rims on our Boost wheels as they allow better spoke triangulation. Doing so allows us to build you stronger and stiffer wheels. The goal for all new mountain bike wheels. The reason for this is that it enables the drive side and non-drive side spokes to be of equal tension.
Then to connect the wheel to your frame, we use DT Swiss 350S hubs in a 15 x 110 mm thru axle at the front and 12 x 148 mm thru axle at the back. With DT Swiss hubs you know your new wheels will last for a long time to come.
