If you are looking for a super light and reliable wheelset, the ICAN Aero 40mm Wheelset is a viable option for you.

The ICAN Aero 40 is a 40mm wheelset in the AERO Series. Developed by the ICAN Research and Development Team, the AERO Series is a superlight improvement of the Fast and Light Series. The rim is made of a combination of both Toray T700 and T800, making it lighter than its equivalent in the Fast and Light Series by 59.15g on the front wheel and 50.15g on the rear wheel. This wheelset is still strong enough to support a rider who weighs up to 232lbs or 105Kg.

The Aero 40 features a tubeless ready 2-way clincher rims that offer easier tire installation. Tubeless tires offer better rolling resistance and protection from punctures. The 25mm wide rim offers more stability at high speeds; better than the 23mm wide rims of ICAN standard wheelset.

The R01 hubset of the Aero 40 is also lighter than its equivalent in the Fast and Light Series. ICAN engineers shed extra weight by reducing the number of holes and spokes from 20 CX-Ray spokes on the front wheel to 18 CX-Ray spokes.
The Aero 40mm Wheelset also features an improved brake track. The Aero 40 brake track can withstand up to 300o of heat while braking- this is 60o more than its equivalent in the Fast and Light Series.
Also included with each purchase is a set of skewers, carbon brake pads, and a rim tape.

Features

Wide Rim Tech

25mm rim wide creates a better, more stable support, while the shape of the tire and rim together creates regular, stable air flow, in short, more aerodynamics, less attrition. provides an ideal basis for 25/28mm tires, the sizes currently popular.

2-Way Clincher Tubeless. Tubes or No-Tubes

Use either traditional tires with tubes, or tubeless tires without tubes. Tubeless tires can provide lower rolling resistance and better protection from punctures.

Sapim CX-RAY As light as a titanium spoke

The CX-Ray still receives the best results in fatigue testing of any spoke. The CX-Ray aero spoke combines excellent aerodynamics with low weight and great strength. Not only are they more aerodynamic, they also make wheels lighter and stronger. Its unique strength and flexibility make the CX-Ray suitable for most bicycle disciplines. CX-Ray spokes are used by top bike racers and triathletes around the world.

Sapim Secure Lock Nipples

Sapim Secure Lock nipple is a locking mechanism that prevents nipples from untightening.Secure Lock nipple can achieve a stable and well defi ned deformation on the thread. Each nipple has an additional locking resistance of 18 +/- 3 cNm.

4.What is the best tire size for my ICAN wheels?

The best tire size for your wheel, which depends on the wheelsets type, size and the conditions you plan to ride the wheel in.
If you focus on speed, aerodynamic, each carbon wheel will have a specific recomended tire width, which is listed on specific product pages under rim specs.

We find(Not necessarily 100% correct): With a broader external width, ICAN Cycling wheels roll most optimally with a 25mm/28mm (actual width) tire. For Jet wheels, we recommend 25mm (actual width) tires, but 28mm (actual width) tires are still an excellent choice. Unless a podium step hangs in the balance, the difference in the speed of the Jet, using a 25mm tire versus a 28mm tire, works out to only 0.05 kph. That’s approximately 3 – 4 seconds over 40km.

Recommended front wheel: 110+-10 kg force
Rear wheel: 120+-10 kg force
